Interaction & Control: Inspiration

I have found some inspiration for interactive and controlled digital experiences. There are some really amazing processing applications, that have different aspects as to why it stands out in terms of being interactive.

One:

This one has bright and different colours that follow the movement of the mouse. The pattern created with the movement of the mouse is interactive because it requires thought before the pattern can be understood. It is not obvious how the pattern works at first, and therefore takes a while for the user to realise, while they continue to interact with the experience. While the user interacts with the game, the patterns of colour are affected as a result. Therefore the user does not have all control, but is interacting.

Two:

This interactive experience begins with a pattern of green lines forming while words randomly appear on the screen. The user is able to click on the "game" and create new lines that are similar to ones on the page. The more that appears on the screen, creates a booming effect. This experience shows control and interactivity nicely because the user is able to interact with the game, but not directly control what is happening. The user is able to create the lines/patterns and as a result of this, indirectly controls the booming effect of the page.

Three:

I really enjoyed this interactive experience as there were features which you could change. There was also mouse position features where the design would move outwards from the mouse position. This was really interactive as the user couldn't control where the sparks flew and you could move the mouse and the sparks would go in a random place again. It was almost teasing the pieces, as if they were a separate entity with a mind of its own.
