Fabricate: Laser Cuttings

I got back my laser cut pieces of my model today and here are the results:

As the laser cutting was done on shared pieces of material, a girl accidentally mucked up her file, destroying two of my pieces. Luckily, the tutors realized and got two new ones done, and the ones that got ruined I have kept to practice on, as well as other off cut pieces.

Here are my pieces of acrylic. Currently there is a brown, protective covering on them, but I want it to stay protected for as long as possible. The etching can be seen on the protective covering, and looks really good. I am really happy with the way the acrylic has turned out.

This is the cardboard which I am going to use to experiment with a combination of acrylic and cardboard. As I was always planning on using acrylic I feel like I should make the most of the opportunity to at least experiment with the cardboard. It may end up better using only acrylic, or both acrylic and cardboard, but I won't know until I try. The cardboard also shows burn marks, which I will have to take into consideration if I am to use the cardboard versions in the assembly of my model.
