Fabricate: Breakdown of Form

I have broken down my form into its pieces to make it easier to view and understand how and where my model connects. The following images are a starting point to create models.

By doing this I can see that there are three main pieces to the model which are connected to form a whole. Each of these pieces have been formed in a different way with different modifiers, therefore creating different structures.

Because of the complexity of my model and how I have created it, based on the words storm, shatter and violent, I have ended up with nearly a thousand pieces within my model. I obviously cannot fit 1000 pieces on an a4 sheet of acrylic or cardboard and then connect 1000 pieces. I am going to have to modify slightly to be able to achieve what I have envisioned.

What I currently have envisioned and am aiming to create is a model that has three main pieces, but each piece will have long, thin, isolated shards of material. This is achieveable due to the technology we have avaliable to us, the laser cutting machine, which can cut very small and delicate work. This will result in a very fragile and brittle model that must be handled with care to prevent breaking.
