With this model I looked at using split pins as a means of holding pieces together. My first attempts as using split pins proved unsuccessful as it was hard to transform the beginnings of a model from a flat plane to a 3D object. After working at angling the split pins, I was able to create a 3D form, but it is not  a very good one.
