I incurred a problem with the buttons with the previous open source code. I spent about two hours trying to figure out how to change their image without loosing the function. But it was not possible. The images were bound in a code that was so far above my knowledge that I could not figure out all the points where it occurred within the many files.
I decided that I better not use this code set because the buttons were so stylized and iconic to the code set I was using. I did not to make a reference to the open source file in terms of the visual aspect.

I have found another open source code that is much simpler. There are more files, but as I looked through them, their setup is a lot easier to understand what is going on. The url for this open source code is http://www.basic-slider.com/

I have inserted pictures, but still need to modify their size and positioning. I have already changed the way the jQuery slider looks, whilst keeping the clicking function.
