DSDN112: Image & Story Defining

I am making some changes to my comic and am going to re-edit my images to adapt to these changes. I am aiming to make the visuals within the frame relate more to the storyline and enhance the emotion within the reader.

As I begin to refocus each frame I have decided to restructure the elements within the frame. I mentioned previously that I wanted to link the lightness and darkness to the events within the story. The storyline has a dark and depressing beginning therefore I want the images at this point to be darker. During the middle of the storyline the events lighten as good things happen. At the end bad events occur again therefore I want to have a dark ending to it. This should help to generate emotion within the reader and help them to feel with the associated events.

Excluding the title page and information pages, this will be my first frame within the web comic. As you can see, it is quite dark. This is enhanced by the black frame at the top and bottom of the image, closing in the area. The white contrast of the dog provides focus to the reader as the attention begins on the dog.

I want to continue to use the contrasting media elements of the comic style dog, with the real life background. I feel this brings a sense of reality to the storyline as it is something that happens very often in real life. I'm aiming to make the reader feel for animals as abandoned animals are everywhere.
