DSDN112: Introduction to Comic Books

Whilst reading the short comic by Scott McCloud I realised that the words I was reading  were following my own thought process. The comic talks about having feelings towards comics based on the opinion society began. I was in a similar position, having negative feelings toward comics that were guided by the negative opinions of society.

As the comic continues and the the narrative refers to breaking through societal opinions and giving comics a chance is similar to what I am doing in DSDN112. I am breaking through my uninformed opinions, and am already starting to think comics have more to them than first meets the eye.

With every form of media there are variations of genre's within the subject matter to appeal to a wider range of clients. This is the same with comics. Some people aren't going to like one particular kind, the same with television and novels. But having the chance to look and read comics gives you the opportunity to find something you like.

The more individuals in society that gave comics a chance, the more people in society began to be comic book followers and help giving comics a chance against other media. Without these followers, comics would never to given the chance.

Now it is my turn to give comic books a chance.
