The beginning of "Making Comics" detailed a lot of the past uninterest in comics and the negative opinions given by society. It also talks about how individuals became interested and a small following began that increased the number of comic readers within society. Slowly the following of comic book readers was infilltrating areas in society and the rising began. As the changes from historical comics were illustrated, and the content updated, comics were no longer a thing of the past. The number of people interested in comics reflected this upgrade in standards.

The reading then goes on to state the the opportunities to access comic books could be inproved by increasing the number of retailers. Also by increasing media coverage so that people gain the knowledge about how easily accessible comics are would increase the number of readers.

Comics had to face society and their morals about what is ethical in comics. A large number of comics had to be redesign and moralised so they could continue distribution in society. A large number of people will always be uniterested in comics, or believe that comics are wrong. This is the same with other forms of media however, always having to face standards to continue distribution.

Universities tend to study comics as a form or media and this interest helps comics leave a lasting effect on culture and society. The interest that is perked up from these studies has help to make comic books a career choice. It is opportunities like these that give comics a stand up chance to survive in society as a from of art.

Comics have only reached a limited number of people so far. It move forward is to move outward in the literal sense and expand the readership with more diverse product. The goal is to overcome the prejudices comics have, by being dedicated to the cause.
