DSDN101: Begin Pattern

Beginning pattern was interesting as we got to experience blind drawing. We begun by blind drawing faces of the people sitting opposite us. This was an awkward experience because typically the person you were drawing was drawing you at the same time. And as you were constantly looking at the person and not at the paper, the eye contact was awkward.

My drawing of Anna:
When you stop focusing on the lines you are drawing and just concentrate on the object, it becomes very abstract. Even though at first it doesn't feel like it looks very nice, it is interesting to see how the lines come together. As I have learned, the more extreme and abstract the blind drawing is, the more interesting the result is.
As I began to look at possible objects to include in my pattern, I attempted to blind draw a set of pliers.

Ideas:
Some sketches using blind drawing to create a pattern.

Attempt at pattern making:
This was just a quick attempt at recreating the pattern by drawing the tile repeatedly and seeing how each of the corners connect to continue drawing the pattern.
