I have gone in a different path and thought sideways about how I can create a different design using a leaf as inspiration.

The idea for this model came to me when I was originally designing using inspiration but with paper. Based on the original experiments done with card I figured that the card would be flexible enough to create this model. And it was a success using card, just as it was a success when using paper.

 I modified the original design by making all the outside sections fold in the same directions, as to the opposing directions as it was previously.

I added to the previous design by creating more sections and beginning to curve the edges of the model. By doing this, the model seemed to have a bit more life to it as it looked like it was standing.

I made the last sections created slightly smaller and changed the direction of the model itself. You can still see the similarities between the iterations. However, the are working with mostly opposite directions.
