Fabricate: Precedents

Here are my precedent images that I will be using as inspiration for my fabrication project.

The curvature in this model is really intriguing. This model is different in the way the pieces are connected. I like how this model has been created in such a way that the pieces, although curved, look sharp as they are pointing away from the center of the model.


This image is of work by Philip Beesley who creates structures and designs by laser cutting and bringing the pieces to life. The delicacy he uses to cut the material, and the amount of opportunity this allows him is inspiring. With the image below, it can be seen the long, sharp looking pieces and how they are joint to a connecting structure. I want to use this idea to give life to my model. As my model has a large number of pieces, joining them to a connecting structure will help to create as many pieces as possible.
