Drawing Instructions

In yesterdays studio session we were given the task of choosing an object from our pocket or bag and writing instructions for someone else to follow and draw the object. The idea was to be able to replicate the image, but as we found out, was harder than we first imagined.

The object I chose was a key, thinking it would be simple enough to recreate.

This was not the case. My instructions turned out quite confusing and the end result was not nearly what I had imagined, and hardly resembled my key. I had described drawing the key using only single and parallel lines, which when dicussing the drawings, turned out to be one of the confusing factors. I noticed while drawing other people's objects, that the easiest instructions to follow were the simplest and most direct.
The feedback I recieved made me realise where in the instructions the directions became confusing. I needed to include more measurements so that others would know how long specific lines should be. I have now realised how specific I must be when writing code, for code to function correctly, and present the correct representation of what was trying to be achieved.
